Last Friday, the resistance group HAMAS requested the installation of a transitional Palestinian administrative committee to manage the Gaza Strip. This body seeks to guarantee the implementation of the first phase of the peace agreement in force with Israel since October 2025, which, according to the organization, has been systematically violated by Jewish Zionism since its signing.
According to dispatches from the Xinhua news agency, the movement reaffirmed its commitment to complying with all the points of the peace plan for the enclave.
Through an official statement, it was announced that high-level talks will resume next week in Cairo. The decision was consolidated after a two-day visit to Egypt by Khalil al-Hayya, the HAMAS leader in the negotiations, who coordinated the details of the meeting with international mediators and key actors in the Middle East peace process.
Nikolay Mladenov, special coordinator of the United Nations (UN), also participated in these meetings, together with delegations from Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye. The objective of this new cycle of dialogue is to unblock current obstacles and establish a solid administrative mechanism that will make it possible to advance the reconstruction and governance of the Gaza Strip under the framework of international agreements.
