During the ceremony on the occasion of the 19th Anniversary of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFANB), the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, requested this Thursday the installation and swearing in of a commission of historians from the country's history institutes and military historians to review and complete the national military history of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

“We have extraordinary military historians, I want a review of this history published in the 1960s, which took several years of research, to complete the military history of Venezuela in the 19th century, the 20th century and the glorious military history that we are writing in the 21st century,” said the Head of State.

He stressed that the most important thing in history “is not to recognize ourselves in the past, but to continue writing history for the future (...) and the Military History of Venezuela is the history of the struggle for independence, for dignity, it is the history of the fight against colonialism, against imperialism”.

In this regard, the Dignitary emphasized that Venezuela's military forces were not born from the hand of the empire. “Our military doctrine today is no longer the national security doctrine of the North American empire because our military forces did not come from the surnames, the Goths, the oligarchies, but were born in the heat of the slogans of our great General of the Sovereign People Ezequiel Zamora.”
