The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, assured that 47,385 kilos of different drugs have been seized in the country in one semester, which represents a record, and that they have arrived in the country from Colombia.

“Against all that drug, we are fighting an inch by inch battle over the territory, the seas, rivers and the air. The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), does not rest, so we must give full recognition to all the officials who have participated,” he said.

The Head of State added that it is necessary to give special recognition to the officials of El Catatumbo, who participated in a special plan activated in the area.

“In that territory, more than 35 tons were seized and not only criminals, but also authorities, including eight mayors, four from the Great Patriotic Pole and four opponents have been captured (...). And the gringo government and the opponents have come out to say that they are being politically persecuted, when in truth they are tremendous criminals, they are well imprisoned, tried and must be convicted by the Venezuelan justice system,” he said.
