The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the success of the Second National Popular Consultation that took place on August 25 and criticized media censorship of the democratic day.
“Yesterday there were elections in Venezuela, but nobody knows because the big media are silencing us. But yesterday we experienced a beautiful popular neighborhood festival, because we held the Second Popular Consultation so that community projects will be voted on in 4,500 communal circuits,” emphasized the Head of State during the Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).
He assured that direct democracy is being consolidated in Venezuela, a true democracy in the warmth of the people. “Our experiences and roots. We are not a copy or trace of anyone,” he said.
