Head of State declares popular and militia character of the Military House

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, declared this Tuesday the popular and militia character of the Military House, the Presidential Honor Guard (GHP) responsible for the immediate security of the Head of State, which dates back to the Company of Hussars of the Liberator Simon Bolivar in the feat of Independence.

“I am now converting the Military House into a military militia house and we are going to create several brigades of militiamen and militiamen from the Military House, the House of Honor of Bolivar, with maximum training and popular coordination, with the neighborhoods, with the catacombs of the People, with the organized People,” said the President from the Miraflores Palace, where it hosted the grand march for the 165th anniversary of the Battle of Santa Inés.

In consultation with those present, “the popular and militia nature of the Military House, of the Honor Guard founded by Bolívar, who fought in Boyacá, Carabobo, Bomboná, Pichincha, Junín and one day like yesterday he fought there in Ayacucho and who is still fighting with the people,” he emphasized.
