This Thursday, from the headquarters of the multistate channel TELESUR, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, recalled the coup record that former President of the United States Barack Obama has against popular governments in the region between 2009 and 2016.
After giving an account of the coup against Manuel Zelaya in Honduras, the head of state indicated that the participation of the Obama administration in this action was proven, which destroyed the government of the then Honduran president.
“At first there were doubts, no one believed that the administration of Barack Obama, Nobel Peace Prize winner, who had promised not to meddle in the affairs of governments and countries in Latin America, told (Hugo) Chávez on April 17, 2009, months before the coup d'etat in Honduras, spoke three times with Chávez at the Trinidad and Tobago Summit and told him: 'I'm not going to meddle in the internal affairs of Venezuela or of any country of Latin America'. But there it was verified with enough classified documents, there is the autobiographical memoir of Hillary Clinton, who was the Secretary of State, and they accept that from the military base in Palmerola, in Honduras, the coup d'etat was directed against the then constitutional president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya,” he recalled.
He also pointed out that after this coup against the Honduran government, a series of coups d'etat took place in Latin America using various forms such as the use of the legislative power of the countries that were the subject of these conspiracies planned by the then US president.
“The Nobel Peace Prize winner struck the coup there in 2009, in the same
2009 they tried to kill
President Rafael Correa in a coup d'etat led by the Greek embassy, in 2012 they overthrew President Fernando Lugo in
Paraguay with a Made in USA bill, and to say goodbye and leave his wake he declared
Venezuela enemy territory, as an unusual and extraordinary threat, and to put the icing on the cake, in 2016 he
gave the coup d'etat to the president of a giant like Brazil, President
Dilma Rousseff, there's the Nobel Peace Prize,” he said.
