The
President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, exercised his right to vote
at the Simón Rodríguez Ecological School, from where he greeted the international guests
and observers participating in the election day.
In
that regard, he made special mention of the Mothers of Plaza Mayo,
“who have inspired us for all time and continue to inspire us in the
fight against fascism, for truth and for democracy,” he added.
He also
highlighted that this Sunday the seventh election in 12 months is held, which highlights
that “there is a process of democratic quality”, with the
participation of the People.
“We
are holding the seventh election in exactly 12 months to elect 335 mayors
and 335 municipal councils and also for the first time, something historic, a
consultation to vote for the youth project,” he said.
With regard to the operation of the electoral machinery, he assured that it is the most advanced in the world and whoever wants to see it, we are open.”
