The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro described the Jamaican Charter, written by El Libertador, Simon Bolivar, as an extraordinary road map that took him from defeat to victory, from slavery to freedom.

This was stated on his social networks in connection with the celebration of a new anniversary of the historic document.

“It is one of the most complete documents of anti-colonialist, republican and Bolivarian doctrine, and it charted the course of future battles for the liberation of our Homeland,” he wrote.

The Head of State pointed out that “the Jamaican Charter is the root and flame of our rebellion. It is living proof that in the face of imperial and colonial threats, victory is possible. In it, the Liberator projects the future cause and the unitary dream of the Great Homeland that today, with the same indomitable spirit, we continue to build”.

President Maduro specified that “the impulse that led Bolivar from Jamaica to Ayacucho is the same force that calls us to be a people of values, rebellious in the face of injustice. The cause of Father Liberator has not been extinguished: it is a perpetual flame with only one destiny, the victory of our People. With Bolivar, we will be free forever. Long live freedom!”
