Head of State presented a summary of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, through a post on his Telegram channel, presented a summary of the celebration of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho.

“We are commemorating a very special day for the Peoples of our America, because the troops led by Grand Marshal Antonio José de Sucre masterfully defeated what was then the most powerful army on the planet,” wrote the Head of State.

He also noted that “this triumph sealed forever the victory of the liberation of our continent from three centuries of ruthless and criminal colonialism,” and referred to the Ayacucho Winners award, in its only kind, to 21 courageous men and women loyal to the Fatherland who have been sanctioned by the Government of the United States .
