The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed solidarity this Wednesday with the mayor of Cumacoa, Tomás Bello, after the accident he suffered while caring for the people in the midst of heavy rains.

“He had a severe and delicate fracture, a triple fracture of his femur, and he is being treated by doctors. They have been studying, because as you know the femur is such a delicate bone, to do an intervention to help him heal and cope with this situation, the truth is that for now comrade Tomás Bello, mayor of Cumanacoa, is in care and rest,” said the Head of State from the Presidential Command Post.

He urged the mayor and his family to be calm. “I take it upon myself, don't worry, to heal your legs, to be with the people working, to be there with the people at a time when there was still instability in the winds, in the rain,” he said.
