The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, asserted that “the times when the people were orphans and nobody was in pain are behind us forever.”

This was stated from the Presidential Command Post where the authorities coordinate care actions for the inhabitants of Cumanacoa in the state of Sucre , a territory hit by heavy rains as a result of the passage of hurricane Beryl.

He added that the doctrine of humanism and solidarity is typical of the Bolivarian Revolution. “It's a deep feeling of love and it's an effective action in real time. Our People are not orphans. The People today are the protagonists of history and Cumanacoa knows that we will also emerge victorious from this one.”

For his part, the Minister of People's Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, assured that the purpose of civic-military union is to serve the population. “The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) has undertaken a humanist task. With all this device that is being installed in Cumanacoa, we are going to turn the situation around and we are going to work together and articulated to respond to our people,” he said.
