Head of State: Today we have permanent communication with the United States and we are developing relationships of respect

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the good progress of the ongoing communications that the Bolivarian Government maintains with the US administration of Donald Trump to negotiate on issues of common interest.

We have always said that we in the United States hope to one day have relationships of permanent communication, respect and cooperation and today we can say, as has been demonstrated, that we have permanent communications and are developing relationships of respect,” he said.

During an interview with TELESUR, the head of state said that after these first steps, “I wish we could reach the point of strategic regional cooperation relations”, with the understanding that “everyone has the right to develop whatever political, economic and social model they want”.

In this regard, he emphasized that despite the differences, “we will always insist on speaking, understanding each other and moving forward with what we are”.
