The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, called on the national business community to join the large construction of the José Ignacio Abreu de Lima National Steel Complex, located in Guayana.
He specified that it will have the capacity to produce one million 550 thousand tons of liquid steel, to be transformed into hot-rolled coils, into thick sheets for the oil, naval, military and automotive industries.
The head of state proposed signing “a long-term agreement, bringing together the productive force of the nation and the private sector”.
The proposal was made in La Yaguara, Antímano parish, where he supervised the production processes of the Cabillas Rolling Plant of the National Steel Complex.
“With our nails, liver and soul, we have succeeded in resuming the construction of the country's second major steel project designed by Commander Hugo Chávez, which was paralyzed by sanctions,” he explained.
In this regard, he said that “we are now in a position to resume construction of the José Ignacio Abreu de Lima National Steel Complex”.
