The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted that Venezuela has reached a consolidated number of enlisted, militiamen and reservists of 8 million 200 thousand who have stepped forward to defend the Homeland.

He noted that the enlistment process in defense of the Fatherland will now be permanent. “Now the Armed Forces and the Executive Vice Presidency will report on permanent enlistment points (...) since there is a national consensus to enlist to defend the Homeland,” he said.

In addition, it announced that it will create a Community Militia Combat Unit in the country's 5,336 communal circuits. “This communal militia unit will encompass a structure called the Popular Base for Integral Defense, which is 15,751 comprehensive defense bases, which will dynamically reorganize the 8,200,000 citizens of Venezuela who are enrolled in the military and reservist system, ” he said.

He emphasized that this will provide a capacity for mobilization to guarantee peace, “which the country had never had, because this situation of aggression by the empire has awakened, revived and reactivated us in the search for national power in order to guarantee the tranquility of the Venezuelan people.”

He also denounced that the brutal, extravagant and unjustified threat is taking place in the history of all of Latin America, regarding the deployment of eight ships and a US nuclear submarine in the waters of the Caribbean Sea.

At the same time, he thanked the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) for the actions they are taking to make the voice of the peoples heard and to stop the warrior madness of the Secretary of Government of the White House, Marco Rubio.
