Head of State: Venezuela has promoted a sovereign and successful policy to attack drug trafficking

When referring to the issue of drug trafficking in the region, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that Venezuela has promoted a sovereign and successful policy to attack this scourge.
He reaffirmed that Venezuela is a territory free from the production of coca leaves, according to the report published by the World Customs Organization and the European Union (EU). “They insist on a campaign to impose a narrative, justify military aggression in Venezuela and seize our oil,” he said during the 90th broadcast of his show Con Maduro+.
He explained that at the time in Colombia, an economic model based on drug trafficking was established, promoted by the Colombian oligarchy, actions that the current president, Gustavo Petro, has fought since his arrival to the Presidency in the New Granada nation.
In this context, he stressed that, on the contrary, the US empire, which is the world's largest consumer of drugs, “is not interested, and is doing very little to address the serious public health problem that its citizens are experiencing due to the high consumption of drugs.”
He specified that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and other international organizations have revealed figures, as well as the network of new oligarchies connected to drug trafficking; as an example he mentioned Daniel Noboa (president of Ecuador), he has companies used to traffic cocaine to the United States and Europe.
The head of state recalled that in Venezuela they tried to impose a drug trafficking model, it was “in the Guaidó era, who was the great link between Colombian drug trafficking to impose a political system on the country and hand over all Venezuelan territory to drug trafficking. This is the truth.”
He stressed that “for the truth of Venezuela we are willing to give our lives, the truth of our country to the world to defend our right to peace and tranquility.”
President Maduro also warned the American people that they want to induce a war with Venezuela in South America to steal the country's natural wealth.
