Head of State: We are in a permanent search for the truth

This Monday, July 1st, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that “we are in a permanent search for truth, in a battle for truth, and we cannot, in 21st century Venezuela, cease that battle.” This statement was made during the presentation of the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award 2024.

Speaking about the practice of journalism, he said that “he believes in the profession as a force that creates the changes that Venezuela needs (...) It is necessary to keep up the fight for the truth,” he said.

The Head of State quoted El Libertador in his fight for freedom, for the truth. “Bolívar spoke of freedom, 200 years ahead of his time, but he said that the basis of everything was equality, and equality can only be achieved by following the path of social communication through truth, education, the creation of values and the awareness of a vindicated and visible culture”.
