Health sector strengthens training in psychosocial care in the face of contingencies

Through the workshop “Strategies for Stabilization and Psychosocial Care in the Face of Contingency”, the tools of approach and human support were strengthened in the areas of Psychology, Psychopedagogy, Social Work and Comprehensive Prevention of the security personnel of the Ministry of Health of Caracas.

The training activity was carried out in the auditorium of the Blood Bank of the Capital District and was led by the therapeutic team of the General Directorate of Social Policies of the Vice-Ministry for Social Protection. The speakers addressed key areas to optimize the response of security personnel in critical situations and in support of communities affected by recent events.

As part of the body of specialists was the clinical psychologist Marisela Vargas, who presented the paper, addressed psychopedagogy and the post-disaster guidance tools to be considered to promote cognitive adaptation and emotional regulation in children and adolescents. Vargas also highlighted the importance of these tools to ensure empathetic and efficient treatment of people staying in camps or shelters.

With these actions, State institutions maintain the continuous training of their personnel to offer comprehensive, humanized and committed care in the face of any emergency situation, within the framework of the Venezuela Renace Plan.
