The mayor of the Bolivarian Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, announced that Caracas will activate a special plan for working hours and strict electrical control measures “as an action to mitigate the environmental impact and guarantee the stability of the National Electricity System (SEN) in the face of the arrival of the Super Child climate phenomenon.”

“We are preparing for what the Super Child phenomenon can be ; we are going to save from our homes,” said Meléndez, while indicating that institutions must apply a new work schedule that includes working days every other day, from 8:00 to 12:30 at noon.

“With the instruction that was given, to use self-generation with electricity generation plants, in shopping centers, in companies that have a high demand for electricity. We are preparing for what this Super Child can be because of the effects they may have on our homeland,” he urged.

Finally, he said that the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) is active together with the Public Security agencies , which will be responsible for ensuring compliance with this schedule.
