The Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, urged to recover the integral concept of school, so that it is not only an infrastructure for teaching boys and girls, but also becomes a social space for the community.

“That's why we have to get back to school, get it back on time, for children to see their full schedule, get it back in enrollment, that all children are enrolled, recover it in quality, that children feel happy to learn at school, and in Venezuela there are teachers who love their profession and who will do everything to achieve that goal; but it's not just the task of teachers and teachers, I ask everyone to accompany us, the representatives, the community, the institutions, the authorities, are responsible for the education,” he said during a tour of the Rafael Napoleón Baute National Educational Unit, in the José Félix Ribas sector of Petare, Miranda state.

According to a press release from the Education portfolio, Rodríguez asked, in this regard, to go house to house to see which student is missing classes and to incorporate them back into the education system. “It's a battle that we all have to fight. Our task is that no child stays in the neighborhood looking at the ravine, but that they come here (to school) to be filled with culture, science, agriculture, to be protected and cared for,” he insisted.

For her part, the director of the school, Lenny Toro, thanked the rehabilitation work that was carried out, since it is an emblematic institution. “Here we care with great affection for 2,000 children, from the initial, primary, special stages, children with autism and now we are inaugurating the first year of general secondary education,” he said.

This institution, rehabilitated by the national government, through the Bricomiles, has 85 teachers who serve primary school students, -eight sections for each grade- in two shifts, 10 early education teachers, five specialists in psychopedagogy and three physical education teachers.
