The sectoral vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez, affirmed that Venezuela is an example of true and participatory democracy.

After exercising his right to vote, Rodríguez stressed that these elections were the culmination of a cycle of difficulties and marked the beginning of a period of recovery and prosperity for the country.

“Today, a new beginning begins for Venezuela. We have overcome the onslaught of the blockade, the pandemic and the depoliticization induced by social networks. Now, organized people are the protagonists of their destiny,” he said.

He emphasized that more than 5,338 community districts actively participate in the National Youth Consultation, presenting more than 37,000 projects to be evaluated by the entire community.

“For the first time, a historically marginalized sector is being consulted directly: young people. They are being shown that they have dreams, proposals and capacity to execute,” he said.

Rodríguez emphasized that democracy is not limited to electing candidates every six years, but to popular organization, collective conscience and continuous consultation. “The organized community must be the permanent protagonist in solving its problems. This is what we are doing in Venezuela,” he said.

Amid hate attacks and xenophobia against Venezuelans abroad, Rodríguez praised President Nicolás Maduro's commitment to the defense of his compatriots.

“Thanks to the revolutionary government, kidnapped children and persecuted citizens have been rescued in countries such as El Salvador. To all those who return, we say: here are open arms to rebuild this beautiful country together,” he said.
