The Venezuelan delegation concluded its participation in the XX Ayacucho-Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games, consolidating itself as the second best nation in the sports joust, second only to Colombia.

The national team closed the medal table with a historic harvest of 311 medals, divided into 104 gold, 92 silver and 115 bronze.

Venezuela not only maintained the position achieved in the previous edition, but it also had a significant increase in athlete performance, compared to the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, where it won a total of 208 medals (61 gold, 69 silver and 78 bronze), that is, 103 more medals of which 43 are gold.

The gymnast Jimena Domínguez was crowned the most successful athlete in the delegation, providing 4 gold medals (ribbons, clubs, ball and hoop) and 2 silver medals in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Several athletes won multiple golds and broke records, especially in swimming and weightlifting: Jorge Otaiza was one of the great figures winning a gold medal in the individual 100m Butterfly, where he also set a Bolivarian record, in addition to adding another gold medal as part of the 4x100m freestyle wrestling team.

For her part, the swimmer Lismar Lyon won the gold medal in the 100m butterfly event and set a Bolivarian record and won another gold in the 50m butterfly event.

In weightlifting, Angeline Venegas dominated the -58 kg category by winning three gold medals (start, energy and total). His performance was particularly memorable at the envión, where he lifted 122 kg and set a Pan-American record.

Meanwhile, Reiner Arango did the same in the -71 kg category, securing the three possible gold medals and setting a Bolivarian record at the start with a 150 kg lift.

In addition, Julio Mayora, who competed in the -73 kg category and won the full three gold medals, winning the starting (148 kg), envión (185 kg) and total (333 kg) modalities.

Likewise, Keydomar Vallenilla dominated the -96 kg category, also reaching the maximum of three gold medals by lifting 165 kg at the start, 210 kg at the start, and adding an impressive total of 375 kg.

In athletics, Edymar Brea excelled with a double gold in the cross-country events (5,000m and 10,000m).

Swimming was the discipline with the most gold medals for Venezuela (13), followed by weightlifting (12) and wrestling (10).

The Venezuelan delegation won the medal table in a group of eight disciplines: Boxing, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, wrestling, indoor volleyball and wushu.
