Last Wednesday, the president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, ordered to rescind the extradition treaty with the United States, in protest against statements made by the embassy of that country in Tegucigalpa, Laura F. Dogu, regarding the visit of the Secretary of Defense, Manuel Zelaya Rosales, and the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, Roosevelt Hernández, to Venezuela last week.
The president repudiated the statements and through the social network X according to a publication by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “The interference and interventionism of the United States, as well as its intention to direct politics in Honduras, through its embassy and other representatives, is intolerable,” the statement said.
