In Honduras, the Free Party announced its decision to repel external threats and thus prevent a repetition of the events of the 2009 coup against former President Manuel Zelaya.

Gerardo Torres, vice-chancellor, denounced the interventionist statements by the American ambassador Laura Dogu, and retired soldiers “conspiring for a new coup d'etat” in the country.

President Xiomara Castro's Freedom and Refoundation (Free) party confirmed its absolute and categorical support for the president and announced that it will accompany her decisions to maintain peace and security in the country in the face of the threat of a coup d'etat by the United States (USA).
