During the event of Adaptation of the Peace Quadrants in Yaracuy state, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, sector vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, urged officials to strengthen a close and respectful relationship with communities, based on trust, affection and shared responsibility.
“This People is wise, this People knows. Just as I ask police officers and national guards to work so that the People see them as their friends, I also tell them that children should feel that wherever they see a policeman they can approach him, greet him, hug him. Let them feel that a friend is there,” Cabello said.
He emphasized that the Peace Quadrants must be converted into spaces of active protection, where each designated vehicle, motorcycle and telephone operates exclusively within its communal circuit, in direct coordination with municipalities and localities.
“Each quadrant will have its patrol, its motorcycle, its phone. And that phone will work only in that quadrant. If there is a problem, the patrol is called and activated immediately. It's not for the van to be used elsewhere or for the decals to be removed. That patrol is here to stay, to serve the people,” he said.
Cabello insisted that the security model must break with traditional standards and respond to the real needs of the population, such as daily service to schools, health centers and community spaces.
