The Republic of India installed a comprehensive field hospital in Caracas, with the objective of providing timely medical care to the victims of the earthquakes that occurred on June 24. This health deployment is part of the international assistance activated to address the emergency.
The mobile health center is equipped with two BHISHM Cubes, which constitute high-tech modular medical centers. Its logistics supply was consolidated with the arrival of two C-17 aircraft, which transported a total of 36 tons of medical supplies and rescue equipment to the country.
This contingency infrastructure is fully equipped to provide specialized traumatology, surgery and dentistry services. In addition, the facilities have triage areas, clinical laboratories and X-ray equipment for the immediate evaluation of affected patients.
The Head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, together with the Indian ambassador P.K. Ashok Babu, oversaw the start-up of the health complex, which employs 41 health professionals.
