The official chronicler of the Sucre municipality, Miranda state, Víctor Méndez, presented at the Teatro César Rengifo the “Insurgent Historical Action Plan”, which seeks to defend the historic and cultural heritage of the municipality, as well as combat disinformation campaigns that have tried to distort history.
During his speech, Méndez pointed out that the plan is a tool for “assuming commitments to the truth” and becoming an defender of dignity, as in the history of the municipality.
This plan reinforces the role of the municipal chronicler as a public official, in line with the Municipal Ordinance of 2007, and aligns it with the objectives of the Homeland Plan and the Seven Transformations.
In addition, it contemplates the creation of an adequate administrative structure, with its own staff and budget to guarantee its functionality.
The specific objectives of the plan include: the creation of an Institute for Higher Studies of Local Insurgent History, the systematization of a Municipal Audiovisual Memory Center, the development of agreements with universities and public and private institutions, the consolidation of the legal platform of the chronicler's institution, and the promotion of a museum structure in Sucre.
