In line with its strategic health axis focused on timely care and comprehensive care for its members, the Social Welfare and Welfare Institute for the staff of the Ministry of Education (IPASME) consolidates its operational capacity in the area of operating rooms during the first months of the year 2026.
Thanks to the provision of state-of-the-art medical supplies and the work mystique of medical and nursing staff, surgical days maintain an uninterrupted pace in the country's various medical units, according to a press release from the institution.
Namely,
management has focused with special emphasis on the resolution of medium and high complexity
pathologies, positively impacting the
daily lives of working families.
Another
of the fundamental pillars of this deployment is the
Ophthalmological Surgical Plan, which records a significant number of operated patients.
Cataract surgery, pterygium surgery and the application of intraocular
lenses have restored visual health to hundreds of teachers and
retirees, thanks to the use of cutting-edge technology and specialists dedicated to a speedy recovery.
At the same time, for the
protection of the homeland's hotbed, the Pediatric Surgical Plan is being successfully implemented.
Interventions range from inguinal and
umbilical hernia corrections to minor procedures. With a profoundly humanistic
approach, this program ensures that the children of
workers receive warm care,
safe anesthetic protocols, and rigorous post-operative follow-up. In addition, the Institute's
operating rooms maintain an active agenda in the
specialties of Gynecology —with scheduled operations and sterilization days— and General Surgery.
