This Thursday, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, declared that Tehran is ready for both dialogue and war if circumstances demand it. “Any new diplomatic avenue must be based on the genuine good will of the other party and be free of preconditions that could undermine the sovereignty of their nation.”
The Deputy Minister of Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, reinforced this position, while stating that Iran will only resume talks with the United States if there are firm guarantees that prevent the repetition of past aggressions. He also emphasized that uranium enrichment is a national right and that no agreement will be acceptable without the total lifting of sanctions.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, echoed the government's willingness to talk, stating that “the path to negotiations with the United States is not closed.”
He also criticized the United States for posing situations as unrealizable issues, such as missile restrictions, which he described as obstacles to serious dialogue.
