The International Energy Agency (IEA) reported that Iran's average crude oil exports in the first half of 2025 stood at almost 1.7 million barrels a day.

Meanwhile, international tanker tracking firm Vortexa noted that Iran's average crude exports during the first 20 days of June 2025 reached 1.8 million barrels a day, the highest level ever recorded. This is a record reached coinciding with the 12-day Israeli-American war imposed on Iran.

Crude oil and condensates continue to be the engine of the Iranian economy, accounting for between 30% and 40% of the Iranian Government's revenues.

In addition to generating significant foreign exchange earnings and funding for infrastructure, industrial development and social programs, the sector also plays a strategic role in Iran's international relations and energy diplomacy. “These performances highlight the resilience and adaptability of the Iranian oil industry, under pressure from sanctions,” he said.

On Friday, Iran's Oil Minister, Mohsen Pakneyad, stressed that “the snapback mechanism in the area of oil sales could bring the situation to a point that requires new measures, but we don't stand idly by in the face of these restrictions and we will do our best.”
