The Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, reported that a bill is being studied to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The measure would be taken until Tehran receives tangible assurances about the professional conduct of the United Nations (UN) nuclear agency.
Qalibaf reiterated the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, based on a religious decree by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution banning nuclear weapons.
He also considered that the world is witnessing that the IAEA “has not fulfilled any of its commitments and has become a political instrument”.
The president of the parliament denounced the recent military attacks by the United States (US) against his nation's nuclear facilities and described them as a declaration of his direct participation in a war against Iran, following the failure of the Israeli regime.
He also added that “while we consider this American attack to be the result of the Israeli regime's strategic failure to achieve its objectives, we will not tolerate it.”
In addition, he issued a direct warning: “Without a doubt, we will give an answer that will make the gambler Trump regret having committed the act of aggression against our beloved country.”
