The Banco de la Nación Argentina is at the center of a judicial controversy following a complaint filed by the Civic Coalition (CC). The opposition party points to alleged irregularities in the granting of high-value mortgage loans to officials of Javier Milei's administration.
According to the complaint, the amounts granted would not be related to the reported income or to the financial solvency of the beneficiaries. Deputy Mónica Frade, a representative of the CC, questioned the bank's risk assessment criteria.
He also pointed out that the lack of minimum length of stay and the non-compliance with salary caps suggest poor management. “The Bank provides funding that, in advance, it knows will go into default,” said the legislator.
The research is based on data from the platform “How much do they owe?” , which identifies eight civil servants with debts starting at 112 million pesos. Among those mentioned is Juan Carlos Carreira, director of Digital Communication at the Presidency.
