The Lebanese Ministry of Health denounced this Sunday the total destruction of the Ghandour Hospital, located in the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, following a series of bombings carried out by the Israeli armed forces against the south of the country.
According to information released by the Prensa Latina agency, the health department classified the attack as a clear violation of the rules of international humanitarian law that protect medical facilities. He also specified that the compound had been out of service for two months due to the intensity of previous incursions, after having served as a healthcare center and shelter for people displaced by the conflict.
The destruction of the establishment occurred in the context of a recent wave of bombings in the district of Nabatieh, affecting areas such as Arab Salim, Kfar Remman and the so-called Neighborhood of the Sisters, with a preliminary result of four dead and 20 injured. This brings to 17 the number of hospitals damaged in Lebanese territory since March 2.
Military actions have intensified despite the framework agreement signed on 26 June for the gradual withdrawal of troops and the incorporation of the Lebanese Army into the area. According to official accounts, the escalation of war that began in March has left 4,358 dead, more than 12,000 injured and more than a million displaced in the Arab nation.
