Israeli planes have thrown explosives weighing a total of 73 tons on the place where Hassan Nasrallah's cousin, Hashem Safieddine, was probably located, according to the Ynet portal. Safieddine is the new leader of the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah.

It is reported that the place in question is the main headquarters of Hezbollah Intelligence, located in the suburb of Dahiyeh, south of the Lebanese capital.

The New York Times reports, citing Israeli officials, that the attack by the Jewish country's aviation took place at the time of a meeting of senior Hezbollah leaders in the underground bunker.

According to the newspaper's sources, they have no information as to whether Safieddine was killed in the bombing.

The new Israeli attack was more far-reaching than the one carried out last week, in which Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated.
