It dried up! Senator Bob Menéndez is forced to resign from Congress

Cuban-born senator Bob Menéndez painfully concluded his story in the U.S. Congress this Tuesday when he had to leave office after being convicted of 16 counts of corruption and bribery.

Menéndez used his Latin American origins to meddle in regional issues and especially to attack the Cuban Government.

However, not only has Cuba been an obsession for this politician, who in 2016 enacted a law to limit Nicaragua's access to foreign loans.

He was also, together with Marco Rubio and Mauricio Claver-Carone, one of the main promoters of illegal sanctions against Venezuela.

But everything built fell apart like a house of cards when last July a federal jury found him guilty of bribery and corruption as a 'foreign agent' for Egypt and Qatar.
