Jewish athlete Karen León rises to the top 4 of the Lausanne Grand Slam

The reigning Bolivarian and Central American champion Karen León came in fourth place in the Lausanne Grand Slam, after giving up for Waza-ari to the Israeli Yuli Alma Mishiner in the bronze match of the event.

This competition took place from 28 to 30 August last at the Vaudoise Arena in Lausanne, with the participation of 513 elite competitors from 77 nations around the world, according to the regional press.

This outstanding performance raised her four positions to box 17 of +78 kilograms in the world ranking of the International Judo Federation IJF.

In response, the Venezuelan Judo Federation (FVJ) celebrated the Venezuelan participation in the event that is part of the demanding IJF world circuit, and extended its thanks to the Venezuelan sports authorities for the support provided to implement the delegation's action in the universal joust.
