This Friday, August 28, the Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, highlighted the importance of the instruction issued by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, to abolish the method of police officers and replace it with permanent and efficient patrolling. “And everything has been here by stage
“We have already completed the stage of the checkpoints in the street; this had to do with the same situation in the country and we have received the instruction of the President and we are lifting all the checkpoints, what does that mean? That the police are disappearing from the street? No, it doesn't disappear because there's more patrolling, a lot of patrolling now, more patrolling, constant review,” he explained
From the state of La Guaira, where he supervised the controlled demolition of a building affected by the double earthquake of last June 24, he specified that to guarantee the presence of citizen security forces, Citizen Service Points will be maintained and reinforced on roads and highways.
“There will always be points of attention for people. For example, traffic has service points on highways, on highways and that will continue,” he said, noting that this measure of dismantling the checkpoint method will allow people to move smoothly.
“But in truth, when you take the highway, for example, the José Antonio Páez Highway, how many checkpoints are there on the José Antonio Páez Highway? A fast track doesn't have to have checkpoints on its route. Each bailiff becomes a disorder and a delay for those who are traveling,” he exemplified and reiterated that citizen security forces are executing the order and adapting the method.
“The police forces are already doing the same, the Bolivarian National Guard doing the same, reviewing everything, that's no problem, it's been done as is,” he emphasized.
