Jordan called for a total arms embargo against Israel amid the siege of Gaza and the West Bank

Last Tuesday, the Government of Jordan applauded the British decision to suspend some arms export licenses to Israel and called for a total arms embargo on Tel Aviv.

On Monday, 30, the United Kingdom suspended its 350 arms export licenses to Israel for “fear” that the material could be used to commit serious violations of international humanitarian law, despite evidence showing that they were used for the massacre in Gaza.

“The United Kingdom was right to suspend some arms export licenses to Israel,” Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safad i said in X.

Israel has continued its military escalation in the Gaza Strip since an attack by Hamas on October 7 last year, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.
