Venezuelan swimmer Jorge Eliezer Otaiza won the gold medal in the 100-meter butterfly category
of the Absolute South American Water
Sports Cali 2024, in Colombia, to win the second gold medal for the country in this competition.
Otaiza obtained a record of 52.91 seconds, with which
he won his second medal in the sporting event. Previously, he had
won silver in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 29.09 seconds.
The Venezuelan national team has a total of two gold medals
, four silver and three bronze medals.
The first gold medal for Venezuela was won by Lismar
Lyon, who broke the national record and was crowned champion in the 50-meter
butterfly in the South American Swimming Championship, with a time of 26:48.
