The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, reported that the country has 1 thousand 719 dead, 5 thousand 34 people injured, 15 866 people affected and 22 thousand 619 victims after the double earthquake that occurred on Wednesday, June 24.
He noted that 855 buildings are damaged and that 189 structures completely collapsed, while another 666 suffered partial collapse.
Rodríguez indicated that to date, 611 seismic events have been recorded, including an aftershock felt by the population this Monday morning, whose magnitude was confirmed by the Institute of Seismology that it did not cause damage.
The President of the Assembly stressed that the monitoring system remains active and that security, rescue and care teams continue to be deployed in the affected areas. He stressed that the impact of the double earthquake requires maintaining institutional coordination and direct assistance to communities.
Rodríguez announced that support mechanisms have been set up for people who require psychological care or professional mental health support, especially those who are in states of anxiety resulting from the emergency. He stated that the State will guarantee the presence of specialists and the activation of care routes for those who need emotional support.
