During the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, affirmed the country's unanimous desire to preserve stability and reject any form of external violence.
“Absolutely all of us, with unanimity, want to defend peace in Venezuela. You will get Danny Ocean and one or the other crazy person out of there, but unanimously we all want to defend Venezuela,” he said
Rodríguez denounced the threats of war and campaigns of U.S. military intervention, justified on the grounds that “bombs would only fall on the Chavistas.”
He insisted that the Venezuelan people are absolutely unanimous in their protest against any form of armed aggression.
“To defend peace is to defend the entrance to our house, our sacred territory, our sky, our rivers and seas. It is also defending the right of our girls and boys to the future,” he said, thanking the presence of the diplomatic corps and reiterating his call to preserve the Caribbean as a zone free of armed conflict.
