In the framework of the anniversary of the proclamation of Cumaná as a libertarian province, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, led an event this Monday in the context of the National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela free of sanctions, in the state of Sucre, in which he sent a message of reconciliation and national sovereignty.
During his speech, the parliamentarian emphasized that Venezuela's independence was - and will be - only possible through the cohesion of all sectors of the country. “The tricolor united us in the 18th and 19th centuries, and now we are united by the fervor to build prosperity, peace and a Venezuela free of sanctions,” he said.
“We are on this pilgrimage embracing each other, touching all our hands, so that no one is left out. Regardless of your political stance or your personal interests. In Venezuela, Chavistas, opponents and independent sectors live together, all under the same desire for progress,” he insisted.
Rodríguez recalled that Venezuela has more than 1,800 sanctions. “Regardless of whether you are an entrepreneur, worker, fisherman or student, the sanction goes against you, it affects you too,” he said.
Echoing the words of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, the Deputy urged to leave behind polarization and hatred, and sent a message to Venezuelans abroad, inviting them to return to participate in economic reconstruction.
“Come out for Venezuela, we are going to build true prosperity. It's time to leave behind differences and go and build the future, we have a long way to go,” he urged,
