The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, reported this Friday that more than 12,000 people applied for the protection of the Amnesty and Democratic Coexistence Act, with almost 9,000 beneficiaries, demonstrating the State's commitment to internal reconciliation in the face of external interference.
From the Miraflores Palace, during an assessment of the Amnesty and release process in Venezuela, led by the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, the deputy also pointed out that the Parliament is working on criminal justice reform, with the drafting of laws that seek to protect citizens and strengthen the judicial system, consolidating the country's legislative autonomy.
In his speech, he stressed that the reform of the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice will raise the number of magistrates from 20 to 32, strengthening the Constitutional Chamber and accelerating processes to combat judicial delay.
On the other hand, he indicated that the implementation of the Law on Justices of the Peace, approved a year and a half ago, establishes local and community justice, demonstrating Venezuela's commitment to its own and efficient judicial model.
