Jorge Rodríguez on Popular Consultations: That is the future and they are going to become everyday

This Monday, July 28, the head of the Unified Command of the Bolivarian Revolution, Jorge Rodríguez, reaffirmed that more and more the People will take over the Popular Consultations to vote on the projects that bring the best to their communities.

“That's the future, I think that people are going to assume as something everyday that every time they go to vote, not only to elect positions, but they will vote to decide on projects of the Community Circuits,” he said during a press conference.

For this reason, he assured the importance of strengthening and further empowering the Community Circuits as a true living element of territorial organization.

“Of course the Communes are much more alive than the parishes, the parishes are a shiver that comes from colonial times (...) The communes and communal circuits are much more organized, not only according to the territory, but also the expectations and objectives of that population,” he said.

He stressed that with the Communes and Community Circuits “in the future we will see a more lively, vigorous, active form of democracy based on consultation, and not based on 'vote for me and I'm going to do this'; that's why we said: Vote for us, which is like voting for you so that we can all resolve together”.
