The
head of the Ven25+ Campaign Command, Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted the participation
of youth in the electoral process this Sunday, July 27 and assured that
opposition extremism was defeated by democracy.
“
So these last two elections, on May 25 and the one on May 27, have profoundly
defeated extremism (...) discord and death have
been defeated in Venezuela,” he said.
“
Extremism is defeated and we democrats defeated it (...) every vote is a
vote to reinforce peace and harmony,” he said. At the same time, he assured that,
as happened after the governor's elections, “this election will generate
a profound dialogue between mayors and mayors and the people,” he added.
With
regard to abstention, he explained that in elections what counts are the
votes, so “abstention” does not exist, it is a non-existent ghost. What
exists are the votes, what the CNE (National
Electoral Council) is going to count are the votes.”
