The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted the participation of the People in military training in the country's 312 barracks, in response to President Nicolás Maduro's call to strengthen territorial defense.
From the El Estanque sector, in the parish of Coche, Rodríguez reported that thousands of citizens attended military installations to receive theoretical and practical training in defense
The day, he explained, aims to strengthen national awareness of peace and sovereignty by directly bringing together the People and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).
“The defense of the Republic rests on the conscience of the Venezuelan people. Today we see how the call is being answered, with an active presence in the barracks, in an enlistment process that strengthens peace,” said Rodríguez.
During the activity, the executive vice president also supervised the Sovereign Field Fair, in coordination with the Ministry of Popular Power for Food and the national producer sector.
Rodríguez reported that during the month of September, more than 12 tons of protein were distributed throughout the country, as part of efforts to guarantee food sovereignty.
He stressed that this work is carried out in coordination between the public and private sectors and has received international recognition from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), especially with regard to child nutrition levels.
“The path of economic growth that Venezuela is going through is oriented to the distribution of wealth for social welfare. Food is part of that policy, and today we see how communities are being served while strengthening national defense,” he said.
