The sanctions imposed by the United States on our country only sought to end the welfare state that the Supreme Commander, Hugo Chávez, built for the people, said the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez.
“Sanctions are not written paper in an office, sanctions are the pain of a young person who has to migrate because he can't find ways to open up here and has to go to another country where they will always be treated worse than they can be treated in this country; sanctions are the old man who can't do dialysis, he's the hypertensive patient who can't get medication. The sanctions were only intended to stop the welfare state that Hugo Chávez built for the people,” he said from Guarenas, Miranda state, during the pilgrimage to demand an end to sanctions.
In this regard, he stressed that the unity of the entire Venezuelan people is the only formula to overcome the difficulties that these U.S. actions have caused against our country.
“Thanks to the peace diplomacy of President Delcy Rodríguez, 18 sanctions have been lifted and we are already beginning to notice how the economy, like its engine, is starting to start with force. Imagine what it would be like in Guarenas if the 1,800 sanctions and not the 1% as we have been up to now were finally lifted. Our economy would be the most prosperous in the continent, we would take off into the sky,” Rodríguez insisted.
