The head of the VEN25+ Campaign
Command, Jorge Rodríguez, reaffirmed that, with the
electoral process this Sunday, Venezuelans are writing “a
glorious new page in the history of the development of democracy” in Venezuela.
In this regard,
from the command post, he reaffirmed that this electoral process is another call
for encounter, peace, harmony and fruitful dialogue that is established
in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic.
“This is what is happening today in
the 15,731 voting centers arranged in the
20,410 voting stations with their voting machines throughout the
country to choose 335 female mayors; 1,420 councilors ready;
982 nominal councilors and 69 councilors for indigenous representation,”
he said, referring to the fact that since the early hours of the morning tables were opened all over the country.
He reaffirmed that 53 organizations with political ends are participating in this electoral event. At the same time, he recognized the Venezuelan Electoral System, which is one of the “most efficient, fastest and most transparent in the entire world.”
“Few countries on
this continent can talk about electoral events like ours that take place
in absolute peace (...) would like some countries, whose political leaders are sometimes critical of Venezuela, against such a robust democracy,”
he said.
