This Wednesday, February 28, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, emphasized that the Bolivarian Government has never denied the vote to Venezuelans abroad, rather those who are preventing them are those who attack and attack our Homeland.

Venezuela has always had a very clear position with respect to Venezuelans who live abroad and who use the different diplomatic bodies that exist in order to exercise their right to vote, the right to vote has never been denied to a Venezuelan who duly register in the corresponding consulates,” Rodríguez reaffirmed during his press conference after the signing of the electoral calendar proposal by political, religious and business sectors.

He stressed that those who deny the vote to Venezuelans who are abroad, “are those countries that attack Venezuela and that do not maintain diplomatic or consular relations with Venezuela.”

In this regard, he took as an example the case of the United States, referring to how Venezuela's residence is located in that country, which houses drug addicts and people living on the streets. “Go see how the US residence is here in Venezuela; because we respect, we are decent people, instead they handed that over to the thief of (Juan) Guaidó (...) then they kicked them out and now they are drug addicts,” he said in comparison.

He reaffirmed that Venezuelans who are in countries such as the United States will not be able to vote, since “there is no consular representation”.

“We have never denied the vote to Venezuelans, those who deny it are the aggressors, those who surrounded Venezuela, blocked it, those who robbed our diplomatic headquarters in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina and the United States (...) we would like nothing more than to open voting centers abroad (...) but we are not the ones who allow drug addicts and indigents to enter our embassy,” he reiterated.
