Venezuelan second baseman José Altuve led the offensive in the Houston Astros' victory with two hits against the Boston Red Sox 8-1 Major League Baseball (MLB).

During the match, Altuve hit his first two home runs of the current campaign, drove in two runs and negotiated a base on the balls, in four at-bats.

For the Boston team, Venezuelan left-handed pitcher Ranger Suárez made his first start of the year after signing a five-season contract.

Suárez took the defeat by working for 4.1 innings, allowing seven hits and four runs. During his performance, the left-handed man awarded a ticket and struck out seven rivals.

The Red Sox offense was limited to four hits throughout the match. Venezuelan Wilyer Abreu scored two of those hits and produced the only race for his ninth. His compatriot Carlos Narváez also provided a single in three legal appearances at the plate.

With this result, the Astros set their record at three wins and two losses. The Boston Red Sox have one win and three setbacks in their first four games of the season.
