On May 7, 1939, in the city of Valera, Trujillo state, José Antonio Abreu Anselmi was born, a teacher who, inspired by humanism and trusting in the abilities of the people, implemented the greatest mechanism of musical inclusion that today is an example in the world; the National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras.

This work of humanity began in 1975, and since then, their struggle to expand this dream has not stopped, and thanks to the undisputed support of the Bolivarian Revolution, the orchestra system had its greatest boom, which not only meant the increase of its participants, to more than one million, but also the expansion of its reach, taking it to the farthest corners of the country.

This beautiful work earned him countless awards, which today adorn the memory of this illustrious Venezuelan, who, inspired by the strength and perseverance of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, built this space for the creation and deployment of the greatest art of humanity, such as music.

Today in the 86th birthday, the Venezuelan people honor those who, trusting in the creative powers of the humble, dedicated their lives to the inclusion and formation of a better human being, who is the supreme goal of those who combat capitalism and promote socialism.

“Music sows values in the child's soul. It teaches him to appreciate the beautiful, the noble and there lies the germ of what is then transformed into aesthetic values that are then translated into ethical values”.

José Antonio Abreu
